Communication so many ways

We all strive to communicate more effectively with others both at work and socially, these days there are so many ways to communicate!

Let’s look at an average day in communication using Lee Cassidy the Managing Director at SD Voice & Video as an example:-

  • Wake at around 6am check email on iPad and reply to any important emails
  • Check social media feeds including twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn again on iPad using Hootsuite, schedule some outgoing messages.
  • Read what is going on using Flipboard on iPad
  • Check schedule for day on Google Apps Calendar on iPad add any new items from email etc.
  • Check CRM for any sales related tasks for the day again via iPad
  • Drive into work listening to podcasts on iPhone
  • Make one or two calls on the way to office using iPhone
  • Check email when arrive at office using MacBook Pro Mail app
  • Check task list and delegated tasks on do.com using iPad
  • Various telephone calls made and received through the day via desk phone and iPhone
  • Video call with partner via LifeSize video conferencing unit to discuss marketing
  • Check social media using Hootsuite on MacBook 
  • Demonstrate Meraki wired and wireless via Fuze meeting on MacBook 
  • Customer meeting in office use flip chart and iPad presentation to educate customer and start sales engagement
  • Update CRM with details of sales meeting
  • Check email on iPad
  • Drive home make or receive calls on iPhone again listen to podcasts on iPhone
  • During evening check email and social media a number of times on iPad
  • Read kindle book on iPad in bed
  • Final check of email, social media and Flipboard before sleep
  • It all starts again!

The key is to use the most appropriate medium via the most practical device for each communication event.
